What is MP Modeling?
JANA's MP model is a fully quantitative approach to anticipating risk that allows you to better manage your pipeline assets and their integrity. We look at the potential failure mechanism of your pipeline, and once we know how it will fail, we can express it mathematically in a reliability equation. Then we use real data that you already have about your pipeline and its historical performance and apply it to the equation to create a statistical model that can reliably predict the future.
This technology is already in use in the Air Force and the nuclear power sector, but it is new to Pipeline Integrity Management. It is an accurate and practical model that allows you to prioritize the work that needs to be done on a given pipeline segment at what time, thus improving your performance reliability with each progressive year.

Why is MP Modeling So Innovative?
Pipeline risk modeling has traditionally been approached from a more qualitative route that was less technically sound. This index-type approach uses an index or score to rate each segment of a pipeline, across the hundreds of thousands of segments that make up a pipeline. The expected performance wasn’t clearly defined, nor was there a clear indication of its current condition.
